Clausen Agro improve Dry Matter Control with EVONIR Sensor

Clausen Agro improve Dry Matter Control with EVONIR Sensor

Investing in Precision Feeding

Clausen Agro is a family-run organic dairy farm managing 650 cows. To improve feeding accuracy and consistency, the farm invested in the EVONIR sensor by Dinamica Generale, installed on a self-propelled feed mixer.

“The NIR sensor simply controls how much feed we put into the mixer,” explains Lars, operations manager at Clausen Agro. “It influences how we handle the feed and helps us decide exactly how much to load.”

Managing Forage Variability

One of the biggest benefits highlighted by Lars is the ability to monitor forage variability on a daily basis. Weather conditions, such as heavy rainfall, significantly affect the quality of grass and corn silage.

“With EVONIR we can clearly see the difference from day to day. We are now able to control exactly how many kilos of dry matter our cows receive,” Lars notes.

Managing Leftovers and Improving Consistency

The use of EVONIR has also helped the farm better manage feed refusals. During the summer grazing period, it was more difficult to control leftovers, but moving into winter brings greater stability.

“So far the sensor has made it easier to control our leftover feed. As we move into the winter season, I expect to achieve even more consistent results,” says Lars.

A Reliable Investment

For Clausen Agro, the EVONIR sensor has already proven to be a valuable tool.

“I believe the data from the NIR sensor is 100% reliable. It’s definitely a good thing and a step in the right direction. Overall, it’s been a good investment for our farm,” concludes Lars.
