Dinamica Generale, technology and savings in breeding

The system allows constant control of the ration in real time. Result: an average gain of 3.8 cents per kilogram of milk produced.

TheLuppi farm in Bagnolo San Vito (Mn), about 280 lactating cows, was chosen last year for an experimental project aimed at improving milk quality through constant control of the ration.
The best balance of nutrients was ensured by technologies that detect qualitative-quantitative variations in feed in real time, optimizing the economy of the ration.

The Filigrana project involved eight farms located between the provinces of Mantua, Lodi and Brescia, as well as the Catholic University of Piacenza and the Spallanzani Institute in Cremona.

A weighing system and moisture analyzer were installed on the mixer wagons of the companies in question for real-time analysis of ingredients. The special feature of this system is the real-time analysis and automatic recalculation of the weight to be loaded onto the wagon based on the dry matter values predicted by the analyses. Data collected showed that, with the use of the system, farms had an average gain of 3.8 cents per kilogram of milk produced.

At the end of the project, the Luppi farm decided to purchase the forage analysis system from Dinamica Generale, having tested the benefits of the product directly on the productivity and efficiency of its barn

Alessio of the Luppi company comments, “Before the system was installed, silage analyses were done against the opening of a new trench. Today, analyses are done on all loads in real time, and now that I have taken this step, I could never go back! On dry days, I load less than the theoretical weight and on rainy days more, saving money because I don’t waste material .
The animal health benefits have been certified by the University of Piacenza, and I have been able to see the positive effects on my animals, and I believe this system should be installed as standard on the mixer wagon.”
